Overview
Shizen Energy develops, builds, operates and manages renewable power plants in Japan and abroad, including solar projects in Malaysia, and sells green power to corporates through virtual PPAs (e.g. with Tokyo Tatemono). Its subsidiary Shizen Connect runs a DR/VPP platform it says is No.1 by share, and Shizen Operations handles plant and data-centre operations. It earns from power sales, development and asset management. In October 2022 it agreed ¥74.4B of funding, including ¥20B of direct investment and a ¥50B co-investment commitment from Canada’s CDPQ and ¥4.4B from JIC VGI and SIGMAXYZ; only direct equity counts in our totals.
