Overview
newmo is building ride-hailing and taxi services in Japan, starting in Osaka, where it has bought three taxi operators with more than 1,000 cars between them. Founded in January 2024 by Naoki Aoyagi, it raised a Series A whose first close exceeded ¥10B within six months. The round closed in July 2025 at ¥17.9B, bringing the company-stated cumulative total to ¥19.9B.
